🦍✨ 3 Days Exclusive Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi (Impenetrable NP)
3 Days Gorilla Trekking Tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is an exclusive, fully customized safari designed around your preferences. With Roads of Adventure Safaris, you can choose to travel by road from Entebbe to Bwindi, or from Kigali to Bwindi. Some clients also combine both options by doing a one-way flight and a road transfer on the other side, depending on time and budget. This itinerary can also be perfectly combined with Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic lakes, and it’s highly recommended to include a visit to the Batwa Forest Community for cultural immersion.
Expect a real Ugandan adventure: winding mountain roads, forest trekking, and the unforgettable moment of coming face-to-face with mountain gorillas inside one of the world’s thickest tropical rainforests. Your trekking experience typically spans about 4 trekking sectors in Bwindi: Nkuringo, Rushaga, Ruhija, and Buhoma, depending on where your gorilla trekking permit is allocated. Most treks take roughly 6–8 hours total, although the start-to-finish time varies based on gorilla movement, track difficulty, and weather.

🗓️ Day 1: Entebbe → Bwindi (Drive 8–9 hrs)
On Day 1, your driver-guide from Roads of Adventure will meet you in Entebbe (or your accommodation/airport) and begin the drive to Bwindi. The journey usually takes about 8–10 hours, with en-route stops to refresh and enjoy a proper lunch. Most of the time lunch is at a recommended stop such as Ishanshyu Restaurant in the Mbarara/Mbarara–Kabale route corridor (or another similar stop where meals are well served). Before reaching Bwindi, you may also stop at Kabale/market areas for photos and a quick cultural glimpse, especially if you enjoy local views and activities. When you arrive in Bwindi, you will check in, relax, and if time allows, you can visit the Batwa community. The Batwa were the original forest inhabitants and traditionally survived through hunting and food gathering. During the community experience, you’ll interact with community members, watch cultural performances (singing and dance), and learn stories about their heritage and daily life. After the experience, you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
For accommodation, you’ll stay at one of the lodges such as Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, Four Gorilla Lodge, or another comparable lodge of your choice.

🗓️ Day 2: Gorilla Trekking + Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
On Day 2, you will enjoy a full gorilla trekking day. You’ll start with an early breakfast at the lodge, and your guide will provide a packed lunch and drinking water for your trek (usually carried in a small daypack or meal bag). You’ll then drive to the park headquarters for the official gorilla briefing. Here you’ll learn the tracking rules and be assigned to a gorilla group. Bwindi organizes groups into small visitor numbers, and only a limited number of visitors are allowed per gorilla group; your briefing will guide you on how to follow the rangers and experienced trackers. Once you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed one hour with them for viewing and photography. After the one hour ends, you trek back to the starting point, where you receive a certificate confirming your completion of the gorilla trekking experience. Your Roads of Adventure guide will be waiting for you and will ensure you’re comfortable as you return to your lodge.
You will then drive from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi, which takes about 1.5 hours depending on the lodge location and road conditions. Your evening is for relaxation, sunset views, and dinner at your lakeside Enjoy a relaxed evening at your lakeside lodge like: Itambira Island Resort / Accadia Lodge Bunyonyi (or similar).
