Our 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience, takes you through some of the country’s most renowned national parks, including Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Over the course of six days, you will trek through verdant forests to encounter our closest relatives, the chimpanzees and mountain gorillas, while also experiencing the rich culture of local communities like on the Bigodi community visit and the Batwa community experience. Detailed Itinerary Day By Day

Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

On Day 1 of your 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience, you will set off early from Kampala for Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its primate diversity. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, offering scenic views of the Ugandan countryside. Along the way, you may stop for refreshments and to appreciate the beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival in Kibale, check into your lodge and take a moment to relax. In the afternoon, you can explore the surrounding area or take a guided nature walk to discover the rich flora and fauna. Kibale is home to over 13 primate species, including the famous chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. The evening can be spent enjoying a delicious dinner at your lodge, preparing for the exciting chimpanzee trekking experience that awaits you the following day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Community Walk

Day 2 of your 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience begins with an early breakfast at your lodge, followed by an exhilarating chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, you will venture into the forest, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees. Once you find them, you’ll be captivated by their social interactions and playful behaviors. After this unforgettable encounter, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, engage in a community walk to visit local villages, where you can learn about the culture and traditions of the people living around Kibale. This immersive experience allows you to interact with the locals and gain insight into their daily lives, enriching your safari experience.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Cruise

On Day 3 of your 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a journey that takes approximately 2-3 hours. Known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, this park is a highlight of your safari. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a hearty lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, renowned for its rich birdlife and large populations of hippos and crocodiles. The boat cruise offers a unique perspective of the park and is an excellent opportunity to photograph wildlife in a stunning setting. Keep an eye out for elephants and buffaloes grazing along the banks. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner, where you can reflect on the day's adventures and prepare for a thrilling game drive scheduled for the next morning.

Day 4: Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 4 of your 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience begins with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This drive, which takes place during the cooler hours, is an excellent opportunity to spot wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, and various antelope species. Your knowledgeable guide will help you navigate the park and provide insights into the animals and their behaviors. After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast. Following this, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which takes about 2-3 hours. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and take some time to relax before dinner. Bwindi is famous for its mountain gorillas, and the following day promises an unforgettable trekking experience. Enjoy a delicious meal at your lodge and prepare for the adventures that await you in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5: Morning Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Tour

On Day 5 of your 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience, immerse yourself in the breathtaking experience of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you will meet your guide and receive a briefing about the trekking rules. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are assigned to. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have the chance to observe them up close and witness their fascinating behaviors. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is sure to be a highlight of your safari. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch, and then partake in a Batwa community tour in the afternoon. This cultural experience allows you to learn about the Batwa people, their traditions, and their connection to the forest. Engage with the community, and enjoy traditional songs and dances before returning to your lodge for dinner.

Day 6: Transfer Back to Kampala via Mbarara-Masaka Road

On the final day of your 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari and Wildlife Experience, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge before embarking on your journey back to Kampala. The drive via the Mbarara-Masaka Road takes approximately 8-10 hours, allowing for scenic views of the Ugandan countryside. Along the way, consider stopping at local markets or viewpoints to stretch your legs and take in the vibrant culture. You may also have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at a roadside restaurant, sampling local dishes. As you travel, reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters and cultural experiences you've had over the past six days. Upon arrival in Kampala, your safari adventure concludes, but the memories of the stunning landscapes, fascinating wildlife, and rich cultural experiences will stay with you long after your journey ends.
