Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport for your 6-Days Double Gorilla Trekking Uganda and Rwanda side, your English-speaking guide will greet you and begin your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world's mountain gorillas. Your journey includes a significant stop at the Equator, where you can participate in an engaging water experiment that demonstrates the effects of standing on both hemispheres. Continuing on, the drive will take approximately 8 to 10 hours, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful Ugandan countryside. Arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon, you’ll settle in and prepare for the exciting gorilla trek that awaits you.

Day two is dedicated to a memorable gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you'll set out into the forest with experienced guides to locate a habituated gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend an hour observing their behaviors and interactions. After your time with the gorillas, you will visit the Batwa community. Here, you’ll learn about their traditional ways of life, including their hunting techniques and cultural practices. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge in Bwindi and begin your transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. This journey takes approximately 3 to 4 hours and provides opportunities to enjoy East Africa's stunning scenery as you travel. You will cross the border into Rwanda, where the landscape shifts to the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes. Upon arrival at your lodge, you can relax and enjoy a meal. This afternoon is yours to prepare for another gorilla trekking adventure, as you look forward to exploring the unique wildlife and culture of Rwanda.

Your second gorilla trek takes place in the renowned Volcanoes National Park. After receiving a briefing, you will be guided through the volcanic forests to locate another habituated gorilla family. This trek offers a fresh perspective on gorilla behavior and family dynamics. In the afternoon, you will visit the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village), where you can engage with local traditions. You will have the chance to watch traditional dances and even participate in activities such as basket weaving. This cultural experience enriches your understanding of Rwandan heritage and the community's connection to the gorillas.

Today presents the unique chance for a second gorilla trekking experience, this time in a different sector of Volcanoes National Park. This trek allows you to observe various gorilla families and their interactions. After your trek, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to the Twin Lakes region, where you can admire the beauty of Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera. Known for their impressive volcanic calderas, these lakes provide a peaceful setting for a boat trip or a leisurely walk along the shores. On your final day, you will take part in a guided cultural tour of Kigali, Rwanda's capital city. You’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which provides important insights into the country’s history and resilience. After this meaningful visit, you will have time for souvenir shopping at local markets, where you can find unique crafts and gifts. Following your cultural exploration, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
