Detailed Itinerary Day By Day

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Your 4-day Kenya wildlife safari to Samburu and Lake Naivasha begins with an early morning pickup in Nairobi. You will travel for approximately 6 to 7 hours north to Samburu National Reserve. The drive allows you to see rural Kenya and changing scenery. Upon arrival, check into your lodge or camp and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, set out for your first game drive, exploring Samburu's semi-arid terrain. Look for the "Samburu Special Five": Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and beisa oryx. As the sun sets, return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation, reflecting on your first day in the wild.

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

On the second day of your 4-day Kenya wildlife safari, wake up early for a morning game drive in Samburu. This time is ideal for spotting predators and observing active wildlife. After your drive, return to your lodge for breakfast and some leisure time. You can relax by the pool or visit a local Samburu village for cultural insights. In the afternoon, go out for another game drive or choose a guided nature walk to explore smaller flora and fauna. As the day ends, enjoy the sunset before dinner at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Naivasha and Afternoon Boat Safari

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and start the 4 to 5-hour drive south towards Lake Naivasha. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and have lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Naivasha, where you can see hippos and various birds, including fish eagles. After the boat ride, disembark at Crescent Island for a walking safari among giraffes, zebras, and other plains game. Return to your lodge for dinner, reflecting on the day’s activities.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha Activities and Return to Nairobi

On the final day of your Kenya wildlife safari, after breakfast, you have options for your last morning. Consider visiting Hell's Gate National Park for a bike ride or hike through the impressive gorge, featuring volcanic formations. Alternatively, rent bicycles to cycle along the shores of Lake Naivasha, where you might encounter giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes. After your morning activities, begin the drive back to Nairobi, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, concluding your memorable Kenya wildlife safari filled with remarkable wildlife encounters.
