In the morning, you will leave Kampala or Entebbe, traveling approximately 5 to 6 hours in a 4x4 vehicle towards Fort Portal and Kibale Forest National Park. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal, where you can savor local cuisine before continuing to Kibale.
After lunch, check into your lodge near Kibale. If time allows, consider visiting the scenic Amabere Caves or hiking around the Fort Portal Crater Lake fields, where you can spot monkeys and colorful birds. After your afternoon activities, relax at your lodge, enjoying dinner and preparing for the early start the next day.
Wake up early on Day 2 for breakfast, then head to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing. As the sun rises, you will meet your guide and trackers, eager to locate the habituated chimpanzee group. You will follow them as they wake from their nests at dawn, beginning their day.
The full day will be spent observing the chimps as they forage, play, and socialize. This extended time in the forest allows for deeper insights into their behaviors, with up to 4 hours spent with them in their natural habitat. Late in the morning, you will have lunch before continuing your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe. As you travel, you might spot wildlife along the roadside, including smaller mammals and interesting bird species. The drive will conclude with your arrival at your destination in time for your evening flight or drop-off.
