Day 1: Arrival in Arusha & Briefing

On day one of your 8 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Bwindi Gorilla Trekking in Uganda, you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Your guide will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha, which serves as the starting point for your safari adventures. Day 2: Transfer to Ngorongoro & Crater Game Drive

Day two involves a transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which takes around two to three hours. After breakfast, you will leave Arusha and drive towards this UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, excitement builds as you prepare for a full day of wildlife viewing.

The crater is renowned for its high density of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Africa to see the black rhino in its natural habitat. While driving through the crater, keep an eye out for families of lions lounging in the grass, large herds of elephants, and the ever-energetic hyenas.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

On the third day of your 8 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Bwindi Gorilla Trekking in Uganda, you will journey toward the iconic Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, the transfer takes approximately four to five hours, giving you the chance to spot wildlife along the way.

As you enter the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill gate, keep your cameras ready, as you may find giraffes and elephants in the vicinity. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive that will show you why the Serengeti is famous for its extensive wildlife and the Great Migration.

You might also catch sight of cheetahs in action or a pride of lions resting in the shade. These thrilling encounters set the stage for your time in the park, filled with opportunities to see various wildlife. Return to your lodging in the evening to discuss your first day in the Serengeti over dinner with fellow travelers.

Day 4: Full Day in Central Serengeti

Day four is dedicated to exploring the Central Serengeti, specifically the Seronera Valley. This area is renowned for its high concentration of wildlife, especially its leopard population and other big cats. Spend the entire day observing animals across the expansive plains.

During your game drives, look out for predators such as lions and leopards actively hunting or resting. You may also have the chance to see massive herds of wildebeests, zebras, and grazing buffaloes scattered across the horizon.

An optional activity you might enjoy is a sunrise hot air balloon safari, which offers a unique perspective of the vast plains and wildlife below. After an action-packed day, return to your lodge for dinner, reflecting on the variety of wildlife you encountered during your explorations in Central Serengeti.

Day 5: Serengeti to Arusha & Flight to Uganda

On the fifth day of your 8 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Bwindi Gorilla Trekking in Uganda, you will conduct a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. This is your last chance to catch sight of wildlife, including herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, or perhaps a sneaky leopard hiding in a tree before heading back to Arusha.

After your game drive, you will transfer back to Arusha. The drive usually takes around four to five hours. Upon arrival, you’ll catch an afternoon flight from Kilimanjaro (JRO) to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Uganda.

Once in Uganda, you’ll have the choice to stay in Entebbe or travel to Kampala for the night. Either way, savor your first taste of Ugandan culture and cuisine, resting well for the days ahead filled with incredible wildlife experiences, including your gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day six brings a long but scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, taking about eight to ten hours, depending on road conditions. As you travel, enjoy the lush, rolling hills of southwestern Uganda, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Africa."

Cross the Equator along the way, providing an excellent photo opportunity. You will pass through communities and farms that present glimpses of local life. Alternatively, for time efficiency, you can opt for a domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrips.

Upon arrival in Bwindi, the dense forest awaits your exploration. Take note of the unique wildlife you might encounter during your visit, including various monkey species, colorful birds, and the lush vegetation that surrounds this mountainous region. After settling into your accommodations, prepare for your gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience

The highlight of your trip occurs on day seven: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you'll participate in a 7:00 AM briefing, where you will be assigned to a group and armed rangers who will guide you into the forest to find one of the habituated gorilla families.

The trek can last anywhere from 2–7 hours, given the terrain and the location of the gorillas. However, the effort is well worth it. Once you locate the gorillas, you will have exactly one hour to observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat.

During your trek, keep your eyes peeled for other wildlife such as forest elephants, various primates, and colorful birds. The feeling of encountering mountain gorillas up close will be unforgettable. After this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, return to your accommodations to discuss the day’s events and share your emotions about this unique wildlife encounter.

Day 8: Departure to Entebbe/Kampala

The final day of your 8 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Bwindi Gorilla Trekking in Uganda involves the return drive to Entebbe. After breakfast, you will head back to Entebbe, which takes approximately eight hours, with opportunities to stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and souvenir shopping.

Arriving in Entebbe in the afternoon allows you some time to unwind before your departure flight. Take advantage of any remaining moments to reflect on the amazing wildlife you have encountered, as well as the culture of the regions you visited.
