Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Lake Ihema Boat Cruise

Your 2 Days Rwanda Safari in Akagera National Park begins in Kigali with an optional city tour, where you can visit landmarks like the Genocide Memorial. Afterward, take a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park, passing through Rwanda's rolling hills and banana plantations. Upon arrival, check in at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, join a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to spot hippos, crocodiles, and various water birds. After your boat cruise, return to the lodge for a relaxing evening with dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive and Return to Kigali

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a full-day game drive. Akagera's gates open at 6 a.m., the best time to spot predators like lions and leopards. As you drive from south to north, search for the "Big Five," including elephants and buffalo, along with zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. During the drier months, wildlife visibility increases as animals gather around water sources. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch within the park before exiting and starting your return journey to Kigali, where you will be dropped off at your preferred location.
