Upon reaching Akagera, you will check into your lodge and have the afternoon to relax or take a short nature walk. On Day 2, you will set out for an early morning game drive in Akagera National Park. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing these incredible creatures, learning about their behaviors and habitat. After the trek, you will return to your lodge for a rest. In the afternoon, you will participate in a Musanze cultural experience, where you can learn traditional dances and crafts from the local community.
On Day 5, you will transfer to Bwindi National Park, traveling approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) through picturesque landscapes. En route, you will stop in Kabale for lunch and enjoy stunning views of Lake Bunyonyi, known for its birdlife and scenic beauty. After lunch, you will visit the Batwa community, where you will gain insights into their traditional way of life and how they coexist with the forest. On Day 7, you will rise early for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
